The Definitive Guide to Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheats: Featuring the New Luxury Lip Liner Collection

Now, we don’t think this will come as a huge surprise to regular readers of The Beauty Blackout, but nevertheless, we’d like to make a formal declaration before jumping into today’s review. Two of our favourite lipstick formulas are formulated by none other than Charlotte Tilbury (we feel like we're on familiar enough terms with her to simply refer to her as 'Charlotte'.) Yes, yes, we know we’ve been sort of merciless with the teasing in our previous reviews of her products but our intentions were anything but malicious. So why all the teasing? Because: a) we think Charlotte’s chill enough... read more »

'At Your Lip Service’: A Review of Charlotte Tilbury’s Royal Lipstick Trio

Featuring the Queen, Legendary Queen & The Duchess If you’re a Charlotte Tilbury fan - and I’d be lying if I pretended I wasn’t* - you’ll understand why I spent January 2018 waiting anxiously for news of something (well, two things, to be precise) epic to drop in time for February 14th. That’s right - Valentine’s Day. Please don’t get the wrong idea. I couldn't care less about all the hokey sentimental cr*p that gets shoved down our throats every February - already the most miserable month of the year. My first and only Valentine’s Day-related priority... read more »

The New Graphik Eyeshadow Palettes from Hourglass: A Review of Expose and Vista

Since it was acquired by Unilever back in July, Hourglass Cosmetics has been on a real roll. In the last couple of months, they’ve broadened the shade range that their Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation is available in (and revamped its packaging to boot.) Given the controversy over Tarte’s decision to include a single token dark shade in their Shape Tape foundation, I think it’s awesome that Hourglass got on the post-Fenty bandwagon sooner rather than later. Hopefully more brands will follow suit. Foundation, however, is not the topic of today’s post. What I’ll be discussing today are two of the new... read more »

Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Fall 2017 Collection: The Finale/Part 5 - The Lip Products

This post is the final installment in The Beauty Blackout's comprehensive overview of the Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Fall 2017 collection. Today, we'll be discussing the only products we haven't covered already - the lip products. Specifically, we'll be reviewing the Lip Pencil in Victoria; the Matte Lipsticks in Burnished Rose, Victoria, and Black Cassis; and Desert Heat Lip Gloss. If you've been reading The Beauty Blackout for a while, you probably know that this blog owes its existence to Victoria Beckham and her Java Sun Bronzer (okay, hyperbole - but only slightly). Bonding over bronzer was how our friendship started, believe it or not.... read more »

Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Fall 2017 Collection: Part 3 - The Skin Products (and a PSA that the clock is ticking...)

PSA, everyone - the Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Fall 2017 Collection isn’t going to be available for much longer. We know that Selfridges is planning to pull the entire collection from their shelves by the end of December, and at this point, we don’t expect other retailers to be restocking. In light of these revelations, we’ve decided to expedite our reviews of the rest of Victoria Beckham's Fall 2017 Collection with Estée Lauder. In today’s post, we’re going to be focusing on all the skin-related products which we haven’t talked about already. For our thoughts on the Java Sun... read more »
